My Range Rover Sport keeps telling me it's overheating but the temp gauge says otherwise

I'm about ready to set fire to this dashboard message because every time I get stuck in traffic on Al Khail Road the thing chimes at me with "engine overheating" and then I look down and the needle is sitting exactly where it's always sat and the AC is blowing cold and there's no steam anywhere so either the car is a pathological liar or there's a sensor somewhere that's decided to start gaslighting me for fun. I had it at a regular shop last month and they did a pressure test and said the cooling system was fine and they couldn't replicate the warning so they just sent me on my way and now it's back with a vengeance and I'm driving around with one eye on the road and one eye on the temperature display waiting for it to beep at me again. I was digging through some old Range Rover forums last night trying to see if this is a known issue with the L494 generation and a few people mentioned the coolant level sensor in the expansion tank can get finicky and throw false warnings even when the level is fine and others said it could be the electric fan controller acting up intermittently and both sound expensive enough that I don't want to guess. I remember someone in a local group mentioning a place that works on these things without the dealer markup and I found the page again at http://www.royalprinceautocare.com/brands/range-rover/ and I'm thinking of just dropping it off and telling them to figure it out before I lose my mind because I can't keep ignoring a warning that says my engine is cooking itself even if I'm ninety percent sure it's lying. Anyone else had their Range Rover cry wolf like this or do I actually have a cooling issue hiding somewhere that only appears when I'm sitting behind a bus in the afternoon sun?
