Tursunov worked with Raducanu for two months earlier this year but chose to end his partnership with the 20-year-old in October. The Russian is the fourth coach to have left Raducanu’st team since her famous US Open victory, following the departures of Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson and Torben Beltz. Last month, there was speculation that Tursunov’s relationship with the British star had turned sour after he liked posts on Twitter suggesting her parents were mismanaging her.

Indeed, since winning in New York last year, Raducanu has signed lucrative brand deals with Porsche and British Airways, among others. Some have, therefore, suggested the Grand Slam champion is more preoccupied with her sponsorships than her tennis. However, Tursunov has now put to bed these rumours and clarified that he still holds a lot of respect for Raducanu. VIDEO: Emma Raducanu training for the US Open with Dmitry Tursunov. Speaking to S portsKeeda , Tursunov lauded the Brit’s professionalism and attitude. “Honestly, I did not see or feel that there were a lot of outside things going on,” he said. “From the time that we started, Emma just really had her nose to the ground. She was very hard-working and I did not see her skip a lot of things. There was no aura of diva or superstar about her and I think she has been managing that part very well.” He added: “I was super impressed with her and couldn’t be happier with the way she is as a professional athlete.” NEW YORK, NEW YORK – AUGUST 30: Emma Raducanu of Great Britain speaks with her coach Dmitry Tursunov during a practice session ahead of her Women’s Singles First Round match on Day Two of the 2022 US Open at USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on August 30, 2022 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. Raducanu is yet to hire a new coach full-time but has started working with Andy Murray’s former fitness trainer Jez Green in an attempt to build up her fitness. The Brit has been plagued with injuries this year and suffered numerous physical problems during matches. During his career, Green has worked with notable names, including Andy Murray and Alexander Zverev. Green was part of Murray’s team for seven years and helped him with the US Open, Wimbledon and Olympic gold at the 2012 Games. You can find all the latest tennis news and rumours here.
